OneNeck IT Solutions Completes HIPAA and HITECH Examinations
OneNeck IT Solutions announces completion of the HIPAA and HITECH compliance attestations. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Security Rule of 2003 (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) examinations included intense review of the security controls OneNeck has in place for its colocation and ReliaCloud services.
“For our healthcare clients, 2020 has been an incredibly challenging year. While they were fighting the pandemic for our loved ones, they were also a primary target for cyberattacks. Our completion of the HIPAA and HITECH compliance attestations offer assurance that we have the tools in place to protect and secure patient records and billing phone, and medical systems, including physician orders, prescriptions and patient test results,” said Katie McCullough, Chief Information and Security Officer at OneNeck.
Schellman & Company, LLC, an independent CPA firm with extensive experience, performed the annual examinations. Following review, they opined that OneNeck has adopted the essential elements of the HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH requirements, including:
- Administrative safeguards
- Physical safeguards
- Technical safeguards
- HITECH breach notification requirements
Specifically, the examinations scrutinized the controls OneNeck has in place at their top-tier data centers in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon and Wisconsin. OneNeck’s ReliaCloud Infrastructure as a Service and colocation services were both examined as part of the review.
Completion of the HIPAA and HITECH compliance attestations follows recent OneNeck announcements noting the company’s completion of the SSAE 18 examinations (SOC 1 and SOC 2) and PCI DSS validation.
In addition to managing and operating top-tier data centers, OneNeck offers a full suite of hybrid IT solutions including cloud and hosting solutions, managed services, enterprise application management, professional services and IT hardware. For more information, visit www.oneneck.com.
