2019 EU, U.S. Privacy Shield Framework Compliance
OneNeck IT Solutions announces the company has certified compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. The Privacy Shield Framework, as determined by the U.S. Department of Commerce in consultation with the European Commission, is based on a set of robust and enforceable protections for the personal data of EU individuals. It requires compliance with a set of principles designed to improve transparency regarding how participating companies use personal data. In addition, it leverages strong U.S. government oversight and increased cooperation with EU data protection authorities.
OneNeck’s Privacy Shield self-certification, in compliance with rules set by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission, was renewed on May 1, 2019. Earning EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework compliance helps ensure OneNeck has the ongoing opportunity to provide cloud computing services to customers with European operations.
“EU-U.S. Privacy Shield compliance demonstrates to our customers that the safety of their customer’s data is our top priority,” stated Katie McCullough, Chief Information Security Officer at OneNeck. “In fact, we proactively seek out this compliance for the sake of our U.S.-based customers who have operations in Europe. It’s an extra level of validation that demonstrates we have the security in place to protect their business from unauthorized use. It also affirms we adhere to Fair Information Practice Principles, which safeguard the collection and use of personal information.”
Completion of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework follows previous OneNeck announcements noting completion of the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, SSAE 18 examinations, PCI DSS validation and HIPAA and HITECH examinations.
